Disability and research
In April, the Espace Pierre-Gilles de Gennes will explore the theme of "Normal? Diversités dans la recherche" (Normal? Diversity in research), which raises the question of disability and the research conducted on the subject.
From motor impairment to autism and telethon fundraising event, some disabilities seem to be more present in the media and in speeches than others, less visible and less represented.
Is this difference also reflected in the world of research? Are some disabilities investigated more than others? Similarly, is there a single way of doing research on disability, a "good way"?
The Espace Pierre-Gilles de Gennes suggests a multidisciplinary roundtable to answer these questions.
- Eric de Légéleuc, sociologist of disability (INSHEA)
- Eric Monacelli, professor in micro robotics (LISV, Université de Versailles Saint Quentin en Yvelines)
