Emmanuel Tibloux, Director of the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs, and Monika Marczuk, Collections Officer in the Maps and Plans Department of the BnF, give a lecture entitled "Univers Bataille" (Bataille's Universe), as part of the School's bicentennial celebrations.
From the parodic interpretation of the rotating movement of planetary systems shown in L'anus solaire, written in 1927, to his lifelong project about a universal history, through "L'économie à la mesure de l'univers" (1946), Georges Bataille contiously expanded the limits of thought to the dimensions and complexity of the universe.
