The identity of the Cypriot city-kingdoms in the Iron Age

Patrizia Birchler Emery is a lecturer in Classical Archaeology at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and curator of the Ostraca Collection in the University's collections. Her main areas of research concern Cyprus in the Iron Age, particularly its ceramic production, the techniques of Greek ceramic manufacture and the transition between the Neolithic and the Early Helladic in the Argolid.

Elle fait partie de l’équipe scientifique du projet Baie de Kiladha de l’Université de Genève en Argolide (recherches sous-marines de vestiges néolithiques et d’un site de l’Âge du bronze), ainsi que du projet Kataliondas-Kourvellos de l’Université de Genève à Chypre, où elle travaille actuellement sur la publication du mobilier archéologique de l’Âge du fer mis au jour lors des fouilles d’un sanctuaire rural. A Chypre, elle participe également à la mise sur pied d’un projet de datation de la céramique par archéomagnétisme mené par la Lycoming College Expedition to Idalion.
