Research on consciousness and meta-cognition ("thinking about thinking") spans the fields of neuroscience, psychology, philosophy and artificial intelligence, making it an example of interdisciplinarity. With a rich and growing academic tradition in London and Paris, the issue of consciousness is listed as one of the major challenges of the 21st century by the journal Science.
However, despite a great deal of interest, the tools and resources needed to conduct robust and decisive research projects are rarely found in training programs and post-doctoral works, even in cognitive science.
This summer school will bring together students and a panel of researchers who will share the latest research, generate interactions and imagine new research ideas and collaborations. The event will ultimately create new opportunities to organize research tours between Paris and London, as well as improve student movement and post-doctoral recruitment.
Who can join?
Priority will be given to students from PSL and UCL. Applicants affiliated with other institutions may be accepted, subject to available spots.
