Director of the Ecole normale supérieure - PSL Frédéric Worms was appointed Director of the ENS - PSL in March 2022. He specializes in Bergson and contemporary French philosophy. He is the Director of CIEPFC, the International Centre for Contemporary French Philosophy Studies, and the author of many publications. A former student of the ENS (1982), he was ranked first in the agrégation in Philosophy in 1986 and defended his doctoral thesis in 1995 at the University of Clermont-Ferrand. He became a lecturer and a professor in Philosophy at Charles de Gaulle University in Lille (Lille III) for ten years. He joined the ENS in 2013 and had been Deputy Director of Literature there since 2015. As a philosopher, his centers of interest are care and democracy, exploring the relationship between science and society and the dissemination of knowledge. He was a member of the French National Consultative Ethics Committee (CCNE) from 2013 to 2021.
