The École nationale des chartes - PSL, CNRS and AWARE (Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions) set up international symposium Female artists & teachers in the XXth century: communication from the angle of the gender, as part of the "Histoire de la pédagogie de la création artistique XIXe-XXIe siècles" research program.

Throughout the XXth century, art and design schools in Europe are criticized, reformed, reinvented.
