Sciences et Lettres Night

On June 7, during the Nuit Sciences et Lettres, the École normale supérieure will welcome everybody. Enjoy a night of conferences, meetings and workshops on the theme "The Origins". From the humanities and social sciences to the sciences and the arts, the concept of origins will no longer hold any secrets for you.

The origin often excites the imagination because we believe that it is the source of all explanation and history. From the foundation stories of the ancients to the current theories of the origins of the universe or life, this theme also plays a central role in the construction of the great myths that mark the history of thought. It is also at the heart of contemporary debates on the complex processes of building individual and collective identities, which are too often replaced by a simplistic view of origin as a fact.
