On the first semester 2021 at the ENS - PSL, the general theme of the interdisciplinary seminar on "Critical Current Affairs" is: "Sciences and Society".
Can we treat people in prison? Is a memorial reconciliation possible between France and Algeria? What is the conflict in the Eastern Mediterranean about?
This is the diversity of questions that the Critical Current Affairs seminar of the École Normale Supérieure - PSL aims to analyze.
5 sessions open to all are planned between November and December
- November 18, 2021: "The general public and science: between misunderstanding and confusion regarding the scientific process and outreach"
- November 25, 2021: "Vaccine mistrust: a new polarization"
- December 2, 2021: "Researchers and institutions with the scientific debate transferring into Courts: the case of the complaints from Professor Didier Raoult"
- December 9, 2021: "Researching, evaluating, deciding. What is the place of scientists in public policies?"
- December 16, 2021:"When science and society meet: the outreach of environmental issues. The role of climate issues in the public debate: between political manipulation and popular involvement"
