PSL's European School of Positive Impact and Responsibility (ESPOIR) summer school includes a comprehensive week-long training program, entirely taught in English, in contact with high-level scientists.

UN defined 17 critical goals to achieve sustainable development. The 2022 session is centered on Goal 6 (Clean Water & Sanitation) and will cover the following challenges: Technical, environmental and political issues revolving around water.
Access to drinking water and sanitation is recognized by the UN as a fundamental human right. The main causes of pollution of lakes, rivers and oceans (bacteria, micropollutants, hormone disruptors, microplastics) will be presented, as well as the methods of analysis (current and future) to treat water. This technical overview will be associated with a tour in a water treatment center. Finally, part of the week will be centered on water policies in France and in Europe.

Through its innovative learning format, this summer school enables students to better understand various issues related to the SDGs on a European scale and to design effective solutions.

How to attend?

ESPOIR is aimed at science or engineering students (minimum level required: Bachelor's year 2 or 3) who have a keen interest in sustainable development.
In 2022, PSL's ESPOIR summer school will host approximately 25 students from different universities abroad.

Applications will be open until May 6, 2022 and must be sent to: espoir-PSL@psl.eu
