Dengue, Chikungunya, Covid-19, AIDS, Ebola: the number of emerging diseases - previously unknown - has risen sharply in the last 40 years. Most of them are zoonoses, infectious diseases transmitted to humans by animals.
The documentary film "The origin of pandemics" raises the question of the relationship between human health and the condition of ecosystems. Director Marie-Monique Robin, along with by actress Juliette Binoche, travel to eight countries and meet with scientists from around the world to understand the factors behind the emergence of such diseases.
The screening of the documentary film will be followed by a debate with Marie-Monique Robin.
