Le régime de Vichy

The CNSAD-PSL welcomes historian Marc Olivier Baruch to the Théâtre du Conservatoire for an inaugural lecture on the school project "The Conservatoire de Paris under the Vichy rule and the Nazi occupation".

The research project "The Conservatoire de Paris under the Vichy rule and the Nazi occupation" is the result of a partnership between the CNSAD-PSL and the CNSMDP (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris), which share a common history until 1946.
Its purpose is to bring them together to study their institution during the Second World War. The study investigates the daily life of the Conservatoire de Paris at that time, and more broadly that of the performing arts, in order to examine the role of artists in a society in crisis.

The inaugural lecture is about of "The Vichy France". It will be given by Marc Olivier Baruch, a leading historian of the Second World War.
Marc Olivier Baruch is director of studies at the EHESS, and a member of the Collège de déontologie of the Ministère de la Culture. He specializeds in the comparative history of the State and the administration in the contemporary era, the history of the 20th century, and the Second World War.

The lecture will be followed, on November 19 from 7 to 9 pm, by a conference by Aurélien Poidevin on "Performing arts under the Vichy rule and the Nazi occupation".
