From a hypothesis to a theory: running a study about rape in the 18th century
Enora Peronneau Saint-Jalmes, an archivist paleographer (class of 2020) and recipient of the first Victor Baubet grant, will give a lecture entitled "From a hypothesis to a theory: running a study about rape in the 18th century", based on her book Crimes sexuels et société à la fin de l’Ancien Régime (éditions Perrin, 2021).
Research on a compilation of unpublished cases will help us change our attitude toward rape in the 18th century and show how law enforcement dealt with this special crime.
