Student projects for sustainable cities

Projets étudiants pour des villes durables

Two students projects will be presented. They won the C40 international competition Students reinventing Cities.

As the climate change accelerates, the world's major metropolises are facing many challenges. In order to imagine innovative solutions, the C40 international Students Reinventing Cities competition invited students from all over the world to think about a new urban model that is more sustainable, more resilient and more inclusive.

Two Franch & American student teams won this competition for the cities of Paris and Washington: a joint team between PSL University and George Washington University (GWU) for the Washington location and another team between Université PSL and New York University (NYU) for the Porte d'Orléans location.

The students will present their projects and innovative solutions for the Porte d'Orléans and New York Avenue NE Corridor neighborhoods in Washington, D.C. A panel of sustainable city experts will then discuss these solutions and the major challenges facing cities in an era of climate change.
