President and CEO of Inserm Physician and Researcher, Prof. Didier Samuel was appointed President and CEO of Inserm, during the Council of Ministers of February 1, 2023, on the proposition of the Minister of Higher Education and Research and the Minister of Health and Prevention. Dean of the Paris-Saclay Faculty of Medicine since 2017, he chaired the Conference of Deans of Medicine between 2022 and 2023. He also headed the National Research Coordination Committee, until he took up his position as CEO of Inserm. Since 2005, he has been leading a research unit at Inserm dedicated to the pathophysiology and treatment of liver diseases. His expertise in the field of liver diseases and liver transplantation is internationally recognized, and he was a member of the International Society of Hepatic Transplantation from 2007 to 2015.
