Academic Senate Election Information
On 2 and 3 December, elections will be held for the Academic Senate of our PSL University.
Instructions for this vote, which will take place online, will be sent to each voter by email to the address at which they are registered on the electoral roll (this may be the address provided by the employer for agents employed by a national research organisation, for example ‘xxx@cnrs.fr’).
This election is very important, as the role of the Academic Senate is to propose medium- and long-term guidelines for research, innovation, training, student life, etc. This role, which the Academic Senate has fully played since 2021 by issuing 23 recommendations, will be strengthened during the next term of office, as provided for in President El Mouhoub Mouhoud's strategic plan.
Due to various difficulties, the number of candidates in some of the sub-colleges is lower than the number of seats available. This is the case for the sub-colleges "Unit Directors", "Professors and equivalent", and "Lecturers and equivalent". No list has been submitted in the "Partner Institutions" sub-college. However, there are sufficient lists submitted in the "Support and Assistance Staff", “Students” and "Former Students" sub-colleges.
However, the elections will be held as normal on 2 and 3 December 2025. Voters from all sub-colleges, with the sole exception of the "Partner Institutions" sub-college, are invited to participate in the vote.
A by-election will be held at a later date, around February or March 2026, to fill the remaining vacant seats on the Academic Senate in the following sub-colleges: "Unit Directors", "Professors and equivalent", "Lecturers and equivalent", and "Partner Institutions". All voters registered in these sub-colleges are encouraged to stand in this by-election
In the "Partner Institutions" sub-college, voting is based on a list system. In the "Unit Directors" sub-college, each of the ten seats is occupied by a full member, who is the director of the unit, and a substitute member, who is a member of the same unit and of the opposite gender to the full member.
In the sub-colleges "Professors and equivalent" and "Lecturers and equivalent", applications must be submitted in pairs consisting of one woman and one man from two different institutions. Those who wish to submit an application and have not yet identified their partner may request assistance from the Senate office by writing to the outgoing president of the Academic Senate Claude.Catala@psl.eu.
