International admissions procedures at PSL

PSL is one of the top destinations for students worldwide and we understand that university applications can seem complicated, especially for international students. No panic, here you can find all the relevant information to guide you through the process. Follow the steps below depending on your status to find out when and where to apply. Applying for a bachelor's degree (Year 1)

I am studying for or already have a French or European baccalaureate

You must apply via the Parcoursup national platform. Here is the 2024 calendar.

I am a European Union citizen

As a European student*,  you will follow the same registration procedure as French students, i.e. you apply via the Parcoursup national platform (even if you are not currently studying for a French or European baccalaureate).

*European students are students from one of the European Union countries, one of the European Economic Area countries (EU + Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein), Switzerland, Monaco or Andorra.

I am not a European Union citizen and I live in a country covered by the "Etudes en France" (Studying in France) procedure

You must request a student visa if you are admitted to a bachelor’s program. If you need any assistance with the EEF and visa process, the PSL Welcome Desk will be glad to help you.

Note: The "Études en France" procedure concerns only students living in one of the following countries: Algeria, Argentina, Benin, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Canada, Cameroon, Chad, Chile, China, Colombia, Comoros, South Korea, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mexico, Niger, Nigeria, Peru, Qatar, Republic of the Congo, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.

To apply for PSL undergraduate programs :

  • CPES: you should apply via Parcoursup.
  • Sciences pour un monde durable : you have to follow the Demande d'admission préalable (DAP) procedure. More information here.
  • Dauphine - PSL bachelor's degrees: more information ici.

Applying for a Master’s degree (M1/M2) or a Doctorate

I am a European Union citizen

As a European student, you will follow the same admission procedure as French students.

I am not a European Union citizen and I live in a country covered by the "Etudes en France" (Studying in France) procedure
  • Master’s Year 1 or Year 2 (M1 or M2):
    -Step 1: The application portals vary depending on the Master’s degree program(s) you wish to apply and your status. See Masters Admissions Procedures & Interactive Online Admission Guide to figure out when and where to apply.
    -Step 2: Once you are admitted to a Master’s program, you should create an 'Études en France' (Studying in France) application for pre-consular formalities, before applying for a visa. Take a look at our step-by-step guide on the Etude en France process
    -Step 3: Once you have gone through the EEF procedure, you must request a student visa if you are admitted to a master’s program. If you need any help with the EEF and visa process, the PSL Welcome Desk will be glad to help you.

    Exceptions: Students wishing to apply for an academic program hosted by Dauphine – PSL should first apply via the Etudes en France portal and then submit an application on Dauphine – PSL portal. Click here for more information.
     
  • Doctoral studies: the “Etudes en France” (Studying in France) procedure does not apply to Doctoral studies. You will follow the same procedure as a French student. More information about the PhD admissions on the Doctoral College website. Once you have received a positive response, you must request a “researcher-talent passport” long-stay visa.     Once you have received your letter of admission, you must request a student visa if you are admitted to a master’s program/ a 'researcher-talent passport' long-stay visa for a PhD program. If you need any help with this process, the PSL Welcome Desk will be glad to help you.

Applying for a PhD track

PhD tracks are 5-year courses intended for high-potential students wanting to take up the scientific challenges of tomorrow and to be trained from the Master’s degree level, working as closely as possible with researchers in the PSL laboratories and the facilities of PSL’s international partners. Funding is provided throughout this higher education course, from the Master’s degree right up to obtaining the PhD.
