Personal projects promotion 2025

Some examples of creative projects presented at the 2025 exhibition:

Beyond our skins | Julie Moriuser

Beyond our skins presents an experimental clothing collection. Mechanical needle-punching techniques are diverted to fuse used garments into a new textile skin. Unique and poetic pieces give meaning and lifetime to discarded clothes, questioning our relationship with wear, body and intimacy. Some of them are also designed to think semi-industrialization possibilities requiring the evolution and adaptation of the needle-punching tool. At the crossroads of fashion, art, craft and industry, Beyond our skins gives new body and life into what was forgotten through downy creations in mottled colors.

Exuvie contemporaine | Thalia Coatrieux Fonso

This research project is part of a methodological and aesthetic breakthrough. It questions the standards of the fashion industry, in particular its focus on fiber and thread, through a radical exploration of new forms of materiality. To re-establish an awareness of matter in the face of the fixed imaginary of clothing, we need to rethink our processes as well as our tools of creation and production. Biomaterials, 3D printing, molds, code and artificial intelligence allow the chimerical shaping of this contemporary exuvia.

Feeling the distance | Maksim Zaitsev

This project composed of experimental garments seeks to highlight and promote  the reuse of neglected materials, specifically, denim waste and locally sourced coarse wool. Although seemingly very different, these two materials share much in common: both have organic roots, often discarded in large quantities, and possess unique, valuable properties and a strong visual identity. Through artisanal and haute couture techniques, these materials are reimagined and transformed into high-value garments, finding a new life and purpose. Feeling the distance, to explore the spatial relationship between body and garment, the sensual perception of materials, as well as the difference in their aesthetic interaction.

From Suburb | Mariam Coulibaly

From Suburb isn’t just about pieces to wear. They are pieces to bear witness, to share, to express through my perspective as a textile designer, the richness and questioning of the world I come from. It is a form of memory, a way of taking a step back: a medium steeped in a culture born on the periphery. I draw inspiration from the influence of soccer in the suburbs, from the music that shaped me, from the graphics of the concrete grid towers. I use finishing techniques, architectural knits, embroidery and all the intimate details that make textiles so sublime.

La balade du bijou | Jade Gautiez

La balade du bijou explores a research and development approach based on creative sourcing that invites us to rethink our relationship with objects. This first iteration, based on the reuse of ‘Le Parfait’ jar closures, takes the opportunity to play with the boundaries between clothing and jewellery. These elements are repurposed and reworked, by adding scraps of industrial stainless steel, to become unique, sensitive and modular pieces of jewellery. The project proposes a new way of inhabiting clothing, by creating a tactile and sensory experience, where the jewellery slides, attaches and transforms itself. It's an experimental journey that invites us to rethink our approach to traditional sourcing.

Métamourphose | Philippa Benoit-Lecerf

Métamourphose seeks to make creation a space for repairing bonds in the face of a fragmenting world. I question our way of inhabiting the present by creating a series of spindles, obsolete spinning tools, reactivating the imaginaries they carry: transformation, magical power, connection to the living. Their manufacture follows the rhythm of the seasons, using a method of creation based on love, attention, respect, time, and collaboration. Here, I consider love not as a feeling, but as a gesture: embodied, sensitive, collective, creative, and deeply political. I wonder if loving is not a form of resistance?

Prêter attention | Juliette Kneuss

What if we could get to know the other-than-human beings around us? This in situ project proposes a joyful encounter between humans and their environment through textiles. Nourished by the exploration of my neighborhood and the exchanges with its inhabitants, the weavings enter into a dialogue with the place where they are hung and a playful aspect is set up through unexpected scales. Tales, recipes and poems are passed on to share the stories and anecdotes collected about the species represented. Together, these elements invite us to pay attention to our other-than-human neighbors, to see the places we inhabit as a community differently.

(Re)creation matters | Théo Lefèvre

Where discarded material scraps become new opportunities, this educational programme service focuses on revaluing material waste through hands-on learning. It introduces children to the potential of resource management in creative industries. Through three workshops in a primary school, 9- to 11-year-old pupils explored the role of a designer and experienced how leather scraps can spark innovation and collaboration. Leather is featured as one of the various material possibilities explored within the programme. The project promotes environmental and artistic education, offering children essential creative problem-solving skills, encouraging responsible practices to face societal challenges, and inspiring a new generation of citizens showing that (Re)creation Matters.

Resonance of a tale | Alisa Regenbogen

Resonance of a Tale is an exploration of heritage, hybridity, and tender expressions of masculinity through menswear. Introspective pieces merge narrative and craftsmanship to bring an original tale to life, drawing inspiration from ancient Japanese and German folklore. Bringing distant worlds and childhood landscapes in intimate dialogue, the silhouettes explore hybridity across both culture and technique, blending traditional menswear with couture practices such as embroidery. Sourced from Haute Couture deadstock in organic wool, silk, and cotton, the fabrics embrace sensitivity in texture and the understated beauty of the world. Through a poetic lens, the project reflects on identity and belonging, offering a soulful, fluid vision of masculinity grounded in the quiet yet enduring power of storytelling.

Soundscape | Kozué Sullerot

At the intersection of textile craftsmanship and digital technologies, Soundscape explores the sensory translation of soundscapes into fabric. In collaboration with sound artist Oscar Vaurs, we are developing a program that analyzes the frequencies, rhythms, and textures of sound to transform them into fabric. This AI-powered program establishes links between sounds and textile structures, becoming an autonomous system capable of translating audio language into sensory pieces. Once woven, each sample becomes a score, each thread a vibration. By training models capable of translating sound into textile patterns, Soundscape brings forth a universal language, where weaving, coding, and composing become one and the same gesture.

Collaborative projects 2025

Every year, four partners place their trust in us by each proposing a topic for exploration related to the transformation of practices.

Over a period of 10 weeks, an interdisciplinary group of students (design, engineering, management) develops a professional-level project, with the support of a pair of tutors and regular progress reviews with the partner. The project is delivered in material, written and oral form.
