In São Paulo with Valérie Pécresse, President of the Région Île-de-France, PSL strengthens its strategic foothold in Brazil
During a visit to Brazil, Valérie Pécresse, President of the Région Île-de-France, toured the newly inaugurated premises of the future Institut Universitaire PSL | USP, the result of a partnership between Université PSL and the Universidade de São Paulo (USP).

The visit was marked by the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP), represented by its president Marco Antonio Zago, and Université PSL, represented by Christian Lerminiaux, director of Chimie ParisTech – PSL and co-director of the new center.
This commitment formalizes scientific and academic collaborations between our two institutions through co-financing by FAPESP for projects supported by the Global Seed Fund, a seed fund created by PSL in 2023 to promote the internationalization of research.
The delegation also visited the premises of the new Institut Universitaire PSL | USP, which will be inaugurated by the two presidents in the spring, in the presence of Anne Varenne, scientific director of the preliminary project.
The center will develop research, innovation, and training programs focused on the circular economy and health sciences. It will also host an office of our European university EELISA, of which USP has been a member since last November.
