Call for proposals « Visiting Fellows » 2026

Invitations are valid for three to six months and will begin at the start of the 2026/2027 academic year. Based on PSL co-financing half of each invitation, the remaining half must be financed by the host institution(s) or by the graduate programme hosting the researcher. The administrative and financial arrangements will begin once the applications have been selected by the PSL University Research Committee. 

The Vice-Presidents for Research at the host institutions* of Visiting Fellows submit applications to PSL, providing:

• A description of the project: duration of the invitation, proposed teaching and activities, laboratories involved and relevant master's programmes;
• The CV of the visiting professor. 

 >> Note: a joint invitation request from two graduate programmes is possible.

The submission document is provided below, maximum 2 pages, excluding the CV of the visiting professor.
Proposals will be evaluated by the PSL Research Committee based on the information provided by the graduate programme director. 

Terms and conditions of the invitation: 

The visiting professor is offered an employment contract by the host institution, which will handle the arrival and welcome procedures, with support from the PSL Welcome Desk. 

The proposed net remuneration is €3,000 net/month for a junior lecturer and €4,000 net/month for a senior lecturer. A lecturer is considered senior if they have more than 10 years' experience after completing their PhD. 
The visiting professor must offer teaching hours or any other equivalent activity for a total of 11 hours per month; the distribution of these hours is at the discretion of the inviting graduate programme(s).

Invitations can be spread over several academic years (up to a maximum of three years) – for example, a professor invited for three months may come for one month per year for three years.

Remuneration is paid in France for teaching and research activities. It covers travel expenses from the professor's country of residence and living expenses in France. 

The visiting professor must be a permanent lecturer-researcher at an international higher education and research institution, regardless of nationality. He or she must be authorised to receive additional remuneration in France.

•     Preparation of administrative files with the inviting graduate programmes, host institutions and the PSL Welcome Desk.
