Cosy Corners: A Peer-to-peer project to find peaceful spots in Paris
In the fast-paced rhythm of Parisian life, we all look for places where we can take a break and recharge during the day. This idea inspired the latest project from the Welcome Desk PSL, developed in collaboration with our students. With the support of the CROUS de Paris as part of the CVEC 2024–2025 call for projects, a small booklet has been created to share recommendations of both well-known and hidden peaceful places around the city.
The PSL Guide “Cosy Corners / Coins Tranquilles” is a booklet prepared by the Welcome Desk PSL together with students, showcasing places to work or unwind — quiet cafés, inspiring libraries and cultural centers, hidden gardens, and more. It’s a kind of Parisian guide created by our community.
Approved in March, the project unfolded in three stages: collecting recommendations, taking photos and designing the layout (with the participation of the Lab Photo Dauphine and graphic designer Antoine Suignard), and finally, distributing the booklet.
Distribution began during the “Mazet Party” on October 2, an event celebrating the end of the back-to-school period. The 130 attendees were able to discover the guide through an exhibition and take home their own copy! Since then, the Welcome Desk has been handing out copies during its workshops and events, as well as to anyone visiting the Mazet Student Life Center.
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this project!
Special thanks to Antoine Altieri, Patrik Cekal, Antoine Suignard, and Lab Photo Dauphine.
Feel free to pick up your printed copy at 5 rue André Mazet
