The PSL Tech Acceleration program has been named a winner in the SATT/Incubators/Accelerators Integration (or Intégration SIA) call for proposals, which was established by France’s Secrétariat Général pour l’Investissement (SGPI); the French Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI); and Bpifrance as part of the Investments for the Future Program.

On November 17, four members of the French government (Frédérique Vidal, Minister for Higher Education, Research and Innovation; Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister Delegate for Industry; Cédric O, Minister of State for the Digital Transition; and Guillaume Boudy, Secretary General for Investment) announced the 10 winners of the second annual SIA (SATT-Incubators-Accelerators) call for proposals, part of the Investments for the Future program – among them the PSL Tech Acceleration program. The SIA call for projects is designed to lend backing to initiatives that offer support to deep-tech start-up firms. The 10 projects selected will receive grants of up to €9.6 million.

PSL Tech Accélération will be coordinated by Université PSL, with the participation of four of its component schools (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris - PSL, Dauphine - PSL, ESPCI Paris - PSL, MINES Paris - PSL), as well as the Institut Curie (as an associate member) and the Institut Pasteur. The program will receive €1.5 million in funding over a two-year period to assist the growth ambitions of deep-tech start-ups that got their start in the PSL-Pasteur community. It will leverage the entrepreneurial drive within that ecosystem and provide support and training, particularly with regard to market access and human resources. Those activities will comprise a structured acceleration program, supplemented with training resources for entrepreneurs and researchers.

The PSL Tech Accélération program has two main components: PSL Deep Tech Factory for training and the PSL Deep Tech Accelerator for acceleration. These accelerated start-ups will receive both support and services designed to put them on a fast track to the market, including top-level assistance to help them analyze markets, form pre-industrial partnerships and joint development programs and strengthen their leadership skills and human resources.
PSL Tech Acceleration will be integrated into the PSL-Pasteur environment, supplementing the existing support for start-ups provided by that community’s incubators and technology transfer services. It will complement the other programs serving PSL and Pasteur start-ups, including PSL Tech Seed (an offshoot of the French Tech Seed fund managed by Bpifrance) and the PSL Innovation Fund created in partnership with Elaia Partners.
