Historical Sciences

Inspired by international graduate schools, the Historical Sciences graduate program brings together the strengths of PSL University at the master's and doctoral levels in Historical Sciences. By networking the actors of the various PSL institutions (ENS-PSL, EPHE-PSL, Collège de France, EFEO), the Historical Sciences graduate program develops a variety of initiatives: training through research and personalized study paths, interdisciplinarity, and the internationalization of curricula and career opportunities. Backed by the best laboratories and teams at PSL University, the graduate programs strengthen the links between master's and doctoral programs and create new opportunities for student and scientific communities

A five-year track from Master’s to PhD

Upon entering the Master’s degree program, each student will define their scientific project with the graduate program's faculty and researchers. Students will have an academic advisor and will be heavily involved in research throughout the program.

Complementary university-wide courses

Graduate program students at both the Master’s and PhD level have access to university-wide trainings in core competencies, both introductory and advanced, designed to supplement their academic study.
Those complementary university-wide courses, available in all of PSL’s component schools, are eligible for ECTS credit.

Thématique Représentations et constructions de l’espace (RCE)

La thématique Représentations et constructions de l’espace est née de l’intérêt commun porté par plusieurs enseignants-chercheurs de la IVe section de l’EPHE à la manière dont l’espace est construit et représenté par les sociétés humaines. Plusieurs initiatives de recherche et d'enseignement en lien avec cette thématique sont développées dans le cadre du Programme Gradué Sciences Historiques.
