The Bachelor's degree in Applied Economics is geared towards professions in economics, finance, international spheres, and development. The program combines a thorough education in economics with specialized courses taught by university lecturers and professionals. Courses allow a deepening of knowledge (particularly in economics) and training in the quantitative techniques and the statistical and software tools used in economic professions..

The Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Economics is attached to the Department of Organizational Sciences at Dauphine – PSL.
The bachelor's degree consists of:
- A multidisciplinary core curriculum in Year 1 and 2, covering economics, management, law, and social sciences. In addition to coursework in these four disciplines, the program includes quantitative subjects (mathematics, computer science, and statistics) as well as strong awareness-building around the ecological, ethical, and political challenges of the contemporary world. These courses are offered across three study tracks: General, Legal, and Social Sciences.
Students may complement their studies with two optional certificates : - A specialization year in Year 3, offered through one of the following tracks:
- Economics and Social Engineering
- International and Development Economics
- "Grandes Ecoles" Program
- Banking, Finance and Insurance (Magistère)
→ Economics and Social Engineering
The third year of the Bachelor’s program in Economics and Financial Engineering trains economists who specialize in market and corporate finance. The aim is to educate students in the quantitative techniques and computational tools that are indispensable in today’s world. Students who earn this Bachelor’s degree can pursue the Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance, and are particularly suited for the two-year apprenticeship track in Economic and Financial Engineering.

- Develop the analytical skills and the ability to synthesize required for diagnostics and appraisal.
→ International and Development Economics
The third year of the Bachelor's program in International and Development Economics aims to train applied economists interested in global careers (in import-export, or in the Economic Council of Embassies, for example) or in development (in NGOS, development agencies, international organizations, sustainable development, etc.) The goal is to give students the knowledge and skills required for careers in international agencies or development. Students earning this Bachelor’s degree can pursue a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and Development.

→ "Grandes Ecoles" Program
The “ Grandes Écoles ” track in the Bachelor’s degree in Economics is a tailored curriculum offered to students at the “ Grandes Écoles ” specializing in business and engineering. The aim is to provide these students with an introduction to the methods and fundamentals of economics while they pursue their studies. Students in this program should be in their second or third year of studies (BAC+4 or BAC+5). This is a modified curriculum and students have a reduced course load. Taught of the instruction is remote.

- Gain an understanding of forecasting and optimization techniques and economic methods,
- Understand how to apply research and research study methodologies.
→ Banking, Finance and Insurance (Magistère)
The Magistère in Banking, Finance, Insurance is a curriculum of excellence which prepares high-level practitioners capable of adapting successfully to the rapid changes of modern finance. For more than 30 years, the three-year program (from L3 to M2) prepares experts for the diverse professions in banking, finance, auditing, consulting and insurance. The program alternates between academic courses, projects, meeting with professionals and internships, all the while fostering strong international pathways through prestigious partnerships in Europe, the US and Asia.
Program objectives
- Assimilate a solid interdisciplinary foundation in accounting, financial mathematics, financial management, portfolio management, microeconomics, econometrics, law, etc.
- Acquire knowledge allowing for approval of two programs from Université Paris Dauphine through transferred credits: the Bachelor's in Applied Economics at the end of the first year of the magistère as well as the Master's in Economics and Finance at the end of three years of the magistère.
- Know how to use essential software tools in the business world, such as Bloomberg and Excel, and assimilate new programming languages such as Matlab, Python and VBA.
- Prepare one's entry into the professional world and define one's career plan with networking events (cocktails and breakfasts) organized in partnership with businesses and the magistère alumni network.
- Participate in a mentoring program. In this way, each student benefits from the personalized advice and follow-up of a mentor over the course of their education.
- Acquire professional experience with a mandatory yearly internship to be fulfilled (3 to 6 months) and the possibility of a gap year at the end of the first year of the Master's degree program.

Admission requirements for Bachelor year 3
Prerequisites and/or recommended diplomas to enter the program:
- Direct admission is available for students from Dauphine – PSL who have successfully completed their second year of Bachelor’s studies in Organizational Sciences.
- Admission is also open to students who have completed their second year of Bachelor’s studies or hold an equivalent qualification at BAC+2 level (120 ECTS credits), at Dauphine (in another program), at another university, or at another higher education institution, in the following fields: economics, economics and management, applied mathematics for social sciences.
- Strong foundations in mathematics, statistics, and computer science are required.
- Personal qualities such as motivation and intellectual curiosity are also considered important assets.
Please note - Admission to the BFA program is only possible at the level of the third year of the Bachelor’s degree (first year of the magistère).
- The "Grande École" track is intended for students enrolled in the second or third year of a Grande École (engineering or business school). Applicants must not be on a gap year during the year in which the track is pursued.
